Writing Resources: Craft Books

Instead of doing a writing prompt today, I wanted to post a list of some writing craft books that have been helpful to me. You can purchase these at any local indie bookstore or check them out from your library. Given that many libraries are closed right now, you can take a look and see if they have an e-book option on their app.

I’ve posted links for purchase to my local bookstore (Powell’s), but feel free to checkout the local indie bookshop near you.

  1. Plot & Structure by James Scott Bell

2. Save the Cat! Writes a Novel by Jessica Brody

This book offers insight on how to plot your novel using a three act structure. It even has a beat sheet which breaks it down into easy chunks.

4. Understanding Comic by Scott McCloud
