Though I have just started this journey, it is leading me to extraordinary places. I wanted to drop a note to let you know about current/ upcoming projects and what you can expect next on the blog.
First, I’m excited to announce a new partnership with the Sandy Public Library. We will be developing a monthly teen writing workshop that will be generative and craft related. Each month, I will provide lectures on the writing craft and offer students a chance to focus on their creative work.
Since this program is still developing, I will post dates, times, and details once we’ve hammered them out. It’s going to be an amazing partnership and I can’t wait to get started!
In addition to my upcoming partnership with the Sandy Library, I have also partnered with a local public school district to develop an after-school writing class for middle school students. This has been a huge highlight for me and something I look forward to each week.
I began this class in September and teach it on a weekly basis. It is student driven and is a melting pot of creative and journalistic writing with students choosing their topics. Each student creates content for our online and print literary magazine. They are quickly becoming experts on their chosen topics!
If you are you interested in pitching your own after-school writing class or developing a partnership with your local library, sign up and follow my blog! In the coming weeks, I will post how I researched, pitched, and developed both programs and how you can too.
If you’re interested in partnering with me to develop or teach a program, feel free to drop me an email. I’d love to hear from you!
In the meantime, follow your passion and keep writing!
