For today’s writing prompt, I want to take a trip back to childhood. What is your favorite memory? Was there a day or event that changed your life for the better? Was there an incident that still makes you laugh to this day?
Focus on the positive. Choose a moment from your childhood (if you’re still considered a child or young adult, choose a moment from your past) and take 10 minutes to relive it and write about it. Think summer days, popsicles, and camping. Family dinners or holidays. Fourth of July on the beach, s’mores by the campfire, or making a team. Prepping and passing a really hard test. It doesn’t need to be a major moment. Just one that made a positive difference in your life.
What was the moment or memory? Describe in detail the events of that day. Take your time and try to remember as much as you can. Write the moment and then describe how it made you feel. What family and friends were present? Can you remember the conversations? Dig deep and let the moment fill you up.
Be well and happy writing.
